The 21st century has been the golden age for businesswomen, as they have been undertaking key roles and leading more than a third of businesses at an international level.
In Tunisia, women have always been effective economic players in the informal sector with rural and artisan activities, thus deeply participating in economic life, reinforcing social values and preserving family cohesion.
In the 70’s, new economic policies supported growth of the private sector and a new generation of businesswomen emerged and to which I am proud to belong.
The 7th of November was a decisional turning point for the empowering of women in the world of business, with the support and perceptiveness of his excellence the President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
Reforms committed to economic plans, both social and financial, allowed women to be highly involved in the entrepreneurial sphere. A new generation of businesswomen was born and was able within a short time to establish her position and competiveness. These accomplishments brought them regard and consideration in the national, regional and international plan.
The Tunisian Businesswomen are active in all sectors of the economic space such as services, industry, commerce, tourism and handicrafts. The new technologies of information attract them more and more and they are highly oriented to exchange relationships and to partnership. They are confident about the future of their businesses and the economic growth of their country;
They have been particularly interested in the social dimension within their companies, in inserting different social categories in the world of employment and business, highly inspired by the first lady Mrs. Leila Ben Ali initiatives.
The CNFCE has been providing support to all women interested in entrepreneurship and they are glad to host them, keep them informed and orient them in all steps of their projects and initiatives.
